Having received a German Shorthaired Pointer through the Oregon German Shorthaired Pointer
Rescue Program, you agree to the following terms of adoption:
NEUTERING/SPAYING: This dog must be neutered/spayed within 30 days of the date of adoption
and may not be used for breeding purposes. Adopter(s) must send a copy of the neuter/spay
certificate signed by the veterinarian who performed the surgery to GSP Rescue. If the
certificate is not received by the above date, GSP Rescue reserves the right to terminate
this agreement, and the adopter(s) must return the dog to GSP Rescue.
RETURNS: If, for any reason, this adoption is not satisfactory to the adopting party or if
the adopter(s) fail to comply with all of the terms and conditions of this agreement during
the entire lifespan of this dog, the dog must be returned to GSP Rescue.
*REFUNDS: If the dog is returned within 30 days after adoption and the dog is in as good or
better mental and physical condition as on the date of adoption, there will be a conditional
pro-rate refund of the adoption donation, subject to the discretion of GSP Rescue. There
will be no refund of the donation after 30 days.
TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP: This dog may not be transferred to any other person, firm, corporation,
or organization for any reason whatsoever.
TRAINING: Under no circumstances will this dog be protection or attack trained or agitated
in any manner or allowed to be used as a guard dog for any person, agency, firm, corporation,
or organization. This dog must not be maintained outside as a yard protection dog. The only
function of a Rescue dog is that of a house / hunt pet.
HEALTH PROGRAM: This dog will be placed on an inoculation program established by the adopter(s)
veterinarian. Adopter(s) will provide food, water, shelter, protection, and proper medical
care to keep the dog in optimum health.
IDENTIFICATION: This dog must wear identification (personal ID and license tags) at all times.
GSP Rescue recommends microchipping or tattooing, and keeps a list of dogs marked in this manner
in case of loss or theft of a dog.
LOSS: If this dog is lost or stolen, the adopter(s) must notify GSP Rescue immediately.
RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: GSP Rescue reserves the right to follow
through on this adoption in order to protect the welfare of this dog. If
the terms and conditions of this agreement are not upheld by the
adopter(s) and/or if any misrepresentations have been made to GSP Rescue
by said adopter(s), GSP Rescue reserves the right to terminate this
agreement, and the adopter(s) must return the dog to GSP Rescue.
ATTORNEYS FEES AND COSTS: Should it be necessary for
GSP Rescue to take legal action to recover the adopted dog or otherwise
enforce provisions in this agreement, the adopter(s) agree(s) to pay all
court costs and legal fees. Likewise, if any adoption donation check shall
be returned by the bank for Non-Sufficient Funds, the adopter(s) agree(s)
to immediately return the dog to GSP Rescue or provide GSP Rescue with a
money order or cashiers check in lieu of a personal check.
The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon is a non-profit organization and the
Rescue Group depends on adoption donations to continue our work. Unless otherwise
stated, we request a tax-deductible adoption donation of $100.00*
if we are successful
in matching you with a rescued GSP. Your donation is used for rescue expenses
such as medical care, immunizations, county shelter fees, and public service notices.
By submitting this application, you are certifying that the above
information is accurate and complete. Should we find a rescue GSP that we
feel is a proper match for you, we will contact you using the above
information, and arrange for you to view the dog, and sign documents. The
GSPCO Rescue Group is comprised of volunteers, and is not responsible for
the accuracy of information received concerning temperament, habits, or
physical condition of dogs available for adoption. It is your
responsibility to see and evaluate the dog for yourself before agreeing to
adopt it. The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon is in no way
liable or responsible for any damage, accident, or injury resulting from
the placement of a dog in your household. All dogs are adopted out on 30
day spay/neuter contracts, with no exceptions given.
